I am greatly influenced by nature, and it is reflected in the subject matter of my mosaics. In the past 15 years, my style has evolved to include more and more cut glass, mirror, glass globs, and natural materials such as river rock.

My latest public work, this mosaic resides in the entryway of the Coronado Golf Course clubhouse. The sky radiates out from the ball, which is ceramic cast from a real golf ball.

The 2009 effort of Coronado High School art students, this mosaic is truly spectacular. I am so proud of all the kids involved in the designing and making of this piece.
It depicts the vastness of our universe as well as our imaginations. We thank Mr. Carl Sagan for his wonderful quote!

This mosaic was made by and for the community of Tema, Ghana with the help of 5 Coronado High School Students. The best part of the whole project was watching the friendships grow between the African and U.S. students. We still all keep in touch!

Math in Nature This mosaic was made by and for students at Coronado High School under my supervision.
This mosaic represents mathmatical principals found in nature. Sin waves, fractals, geometry, logarithms and other hidden symbols create the composition.

Water Mosaic

This mosaic is a bench and surrounding area showcasing glass bricks engraved with donor names. Located at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex in Coronado, it is entitled "Water" and is an abstract homage to the element that we are so indebted to.

The Sweet Piece The Sweet Piece was the second collaboration between myself and students of Coronado High School. It represents indigineous sea life found in the San Diego area. I oversaw each step of the process from conception through grouting to help the students create a permanent mosaic for their new campus.

Concert in the Park This was my  first collaboration with Coronado High School students. Each summer in Spreckel's Park, the city hosts a weekly concert. Community members come in their numbers to picnic, play, and hear music. An integral part of every Coronadan's life, the students, city and I thought that the message of music and community would be ideal for Coronado's first public mosaic.

Sunset Commissioned by the City of Coronado, this mosaic skirts the tennis courts in the Coronado Cays, a  community on the Silver Strand. It depicts one of the beautiful sunsets we are blessed with daily in coastal Southern California.

Fish Mosaic This mosaic, located in a private residence in Mission Hills, depicts Koi fish as if you were swimming with them in their habitat. It uses no tile, rather cut pieces of glass accompanied with river rock, mirror and glass globs.

It depicts a nautilus shell using natural tones and honors the golden rule.

Mermaid This is one of my earlier mosaics. It was commissioned for a private residence in Coronado, CA. The mermaid looks over a small fishpond and fountain in the client's back yard. There are silver and gold plated tiles in the water and in her hair.
