I am greatly influenced by nature, and it is reflected in the subject matter of my mosaics. In the past 15 years, my style has evolved to include more and more cut glass, mirror, glass globs, and natural materials such as river rock.

PUBLIC COMMISSIONS & EDUCATIONAL INSTALLATIONS
PAR FOR THE COURSE Coronado Golf Course, CA Winter 2010 50 square feet Glass		My latest public work, this mosaic resides in the entryway of the Coronado Golf Course clubhouse. The sky radiates out from the ball, which is ceramic cast from a real golf ball. NEW WORK
THE UNIVERSE Coronado High School, CA Spring 2009 450 square feet Glass tile, Glass, Ceramic		The 2009 effort of Coronado High School art students, this mosaic is truly spectacular. I am so proud of all the kids involved in the designing and making of this piece. It depicts the vastness of our universe as well as our imaginations. We thank Mr. Carl Sagan for his wonderful quote! CENTRE OF THE WORLD Tema, Ghana, West Africa Winter 2008 300 square feet Ceramic Tile		This mosaic was made by and for the community of Tema, Ghana with the help of 5 Coronado High School Students. The best part of the whole project was watching the friendships grow between the African and U.S. students. We still all keep in touch! NEW WORK
Math in Nature Coronado High School, CA Spring 2007 80 square feet Tile, Glass		This mosaic was made by and for students at Coronado High School under my supervision. This mosaic represents mathmatical principals found in nature. Sin waves, fractals, geometry, logarithms and other hidden symbols create the composition.
Water Coronado, CA Winter 2007 460 square feet Glass tile, mirror, river rock		This mosaic is a bench and surrounding area showcasing glass bricks engraved with donor names. Located at the Brian Bent Memorial Aquatics Complex in Coronado, it is entitled "Water" and is an abstract homage to the element that we are so indebted to.
The Sweet Piece Coronado High School Spring 2006 200 square feet Ceramic tile, Stained glass, River Rocks, Glass globs		The Sweet Piece was the second collaboration between myself and students of Coronado High School. It represents indigineous sea life found in the San Diego area. I oversaw each step of the process from conception through grouting to help the students create a permanent mosaic for their new campus.
Concert in the Park Coronado, CA Spring 2002 108 square feet Ceramic tile, mirror		This was my first collaboration with Coronado High School students. Each summer in Spreckel's Park, the city hosts a weekly concert. Community members come in their numbers to picnic, play, and hear music. An integral part of every Coronadan's life, the students, city and I thought that the message of music and community would be ideal for Coronado's first public mosaic.
Sunset Coronado Cays, CA Summer 2002 200 square feet Ceramic tile, mirror		Commissioned by the City of Coronado, this mosaic skirts the tennis courts in the Coronado Cays, a community on the Silver Strand. It depicts one of the beautiful sunsets we are blessed with daily in coastal Southern California. Click on the image below for a panoramic view.

Peacocks Rancho Bernardo, 2009 35 square feet Glass, Mirror		Peacocks and a lotus flower create a decadent backsplash on an outdoor fire pit in a home in Rancho Bernardo, CA.
Swimming Coronado, CA Summer 2009 40 square feet Ceramic tile, glass globs, glass tile		Radiating lines from a swimming pool host kelp and garibaldi, swimming with the current.
Welcome La Mesa, CA 2009 65 square feet Ceramic tile		This mosaic creates a welcoming walk way to the main entrance of a private residence in La Mesa, CA.
Back Porch Coronado, CA Winter 2008 Ceramic Tile		This is the back porch landing of a private residence in Coronado, CA. It pays homage to the creatures of the Southern California Garden.
Kelp Coronado, CA Spring 2008 19 square feet Cut glass, mirror		This mosaic adorns the front entry of a home in Coronado, CA and is inspired by local kelp forests and inhabitants.
Koi Fish Mission Hills, CA Summer 2008 60 square feet Cut glass, mirror, river rock, glass globs		This mosaic, located in a private residence in Mission Hills, depicts Koi fish as if you were swimming with them in their habitat. It uses no tile, rather cut pieces of glass accompanied with river rock, mirror and glass globs.
Pineapple Chula Vista, CA Spring 2009 200 square feet Ceramic tile		This is a kitchen backsplash over the stove. The client chose a pineapple for its symbolic meaning of welcome.
Nautilus Coronado, CA Spring 2006 200 square feet Ceramic tile		This mosaic covers the front porch of a private residence in Coronado, CA. It depicts a nautilus shell using natural tones and honors the golden rule.
Crocodile Ghana, West Africa 2006 80 square feet Ceramic tile		I keep a traditional mud house in Northern Ghana. This crocodile is the floor of my outdoor shower.
Mermaid Coronado, CA Summer 1997 18 square feet Ceramic tile		This is one of my earlier mosaics. It was commissioned for a private residence in Coronado, CA. The mermaid looks over a small fishpond and fountain in the client's back yard. There are silver and gold plated tiles in the water and in her hair.
Star Coronado, CA 1997 68 square feet Ceramic tile		This mosaic is my own bathroom floor in Coronado. It is one of my favorites.
Dragon Coronado, CA 1993 25 square feet Ceramic tile		This is my first mosaic. It was a collaboration between friends, family, and myself. The dragon is set within a grid of straight laid tiles, each cut to make room for the design.

healing 2011 3 feet diameter Stained Glass, stone, metal		This mosaic represents a healing journey through yoga and eastern philosophy and medicine. Located in Yoga One Studio, San Diego, CA NEW WORK
core sample 2010 6 inches by 6 feet Stained Glass		A "core sample" ranging from the center of the earth to outer space. Notice the glow in the dark grout! NEW WORK
STARRY NIGHT 2010 18" round Stained Glass		This is a table top for a client, who wanted an accurate but round rendition of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night'. Each tessera represents a brushstroke. NEW WORK
MOUNTAIN MEADOW 2010 2 by 3 feet Stained Glass, heirloom tile		This mosaic was created using salvaged tiles that had sentimental value to the client, combined with stained glass and new tile. NEW WORK

Swallows Spring 2009 2 feet by 3 feet Stained Glass and Mirror		This mosaic was made for a charity auction for a camp for handicapped youth. It is about the freedom of imagination.

Austin's Gallery Coronado, CA Summer 2008 16 square feet, double sided Cut glass		This sign is for a gallery in Coronado, CA that features and sells the work of local artists. It seemed fitting that the sign be an art piece as well.
